Honda S2000 vs. Ford Mustang
2008 Honda S2000 Overview
High-revving, high-performance, rear-wheel drive roadsters are rare in the automotive world, but the 2008 Honda
S2000 is the perfect balance of race-bred technology and real-world driving dynamics.
The S2000 roadster is available as a base model or the limited-edition S2000 CR, which stands for Club Racer.
It’s a factory-tuned, lighter-weight S2000 with aerodynamic spoilers, track-oriented suspension settings, and an aggressive body kit. The
impressive 2.2 liter 4-cylinder engine employs VTEC® technology to produce 237 horsepower for blistering high-rpm performance and strong
acceleration. The standard close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission is one of the best in the world, with tight, crisp shift action and positive
engagement. The 4-wheel double wishbone suspension system provides exceptional handling on road or track.
The power-operated convertible soft top with a glass rear window and defroster is standard, opening or closing in about 6 seconds
for open-air thrills. The lightweight alloy wheels add a stylish touch to the car’s profile. Standard High-Intensity Discharge headlights
offer excellent nighttime visibility and enhanced illumination. Inside the cockpit, integrated roll-bar speakers combine with an AM/FM sound
system with CD player, available XM® Satellite Radio, and an optional 8-disc CD changer for the ultimate acoustic experience. Highly
bolstered leather-trimmed seats offer excellent support and comfort.
Safety features include dual front airbags to protect the driver and front passenger in a collision. Standard
Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control helps to keep the car stable during evasive maneuvers while limiting wheelspin under hard
launches. The 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes stop the S2000 with authority, helping to prevent wheel lockup while braking. The standard Tire
Pressure Monitoring System alerts the driver to any significant changes in pressure with a visible alert on the instrument panel.
For razor-sharp handling, high-revving performance, and open-air thrills, the 2008 Honda S2000 is a tough
roadster to beat.

Ford Mustang & Honda S2000 Review
Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the
dealer. The Honda S2000 is considerably cheaper to get to the dealership than the Mustang. Producing an accurate fuel economy evaluation is so
tough that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though both the Honda S2000 and the Honda S2000 perform roughly
similarly regarding fuel economy. The S2000 is markedly more expensive than the Ford Mustang in terms of MSRP.
Utility
Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the Ford Mustang over the S2000.
Convenience
You'll definitely have to take the S2000 for a fill-up more often than the Ford Mustang because of its tank
size and fuel economy. The S2000's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the Ford Mustang.
Comfort
Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the Mustang's front cabin compared to the Honda
S2000.
Dimensions
The Ford Mustang is significantly heavier than the Honda S2000. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill
up the Ford Mustang than the Honda S2000 because of its more capacious tank. The Honda S2000 fits in smaller parking spaces than the Ford. The
Ford's longer wheelbase will result in a smoother, more stable ride; on the flip side, the Honda S2000 may give a sprier feel in daily
traffic.
Handling
The Honda has significantly wider tires than the Mustang. Note that wider tires could improve handling, while
narrower tires could provide better handling in deep snow. With their comparable turning radiuses, the Ford Mustang and the Honda S2000 quite
certainly handle approximately the same into and out of tight spots.
Drivetrain
The Ford Mustang's engine is tremendously more sizeable than the Honda's. Remember that more massive engines
may use more gasoline than smaller ones. Torque equals pickup, and the Ford will have picked up and gone by the time the Honda S2000 finally gets
moving. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the Ford Mustang is markedly more powerful than the Honda
S2000. Because the Honda S2000's maximum torque is reached at high RPMs, you'll have to shift gears a lot, especially when passing.
Overview
The Honda and the Ford Mustang have the same basic after-sale protection.
